According to Clarkson statistics, as of February this year, global shipyards have received 13.6 million DWT of new ship orders (1.9 ships 4.1 million CGT), up 67% year on year. It is particularly noteworthy that the new shipbuilding market of bulk carriers, oil tankers and container ships, which fell sharply last year, has shown an obvious recovery momentum.

As of February this year, the order volume of bulk carriers was 60 5 million DWT, a significant improvement over the total of 212 million DWT of 312 ships in 2012. In particular, there are 19 Cape of Good Hope bulk carriers with a total of 3.4 million DWT, which has exceeded half of the total of 5.5 million DWT of 29 vessels in 2012.

The tanker market has also improved significantly. As of February this year, 49 tanker orders of 10000 dwt and above totaled 6.1 million DWT, which also showed a trend of improvement compared with 151 tanker orders of 13 million DWT in 2012. Among them, VLCC orders of 13 tankers totaled 4.2 million DWT, which is close to 14 tankers of 4.4 million DWT in 2012, 21 finished tanker orders of 1.1 million DWT have exceeded 1/3 of 65 tankers of 3.1 million DWT last year, and chemical tanker orders of 12 tankers of 0.5 million DWT, Compared with the 37 ships of last year with a total of 1.6 million DWT, it has increased significantly.

The container ship market also performed well, with a total of 9 orders for large container ships above 8000TEU, compared with 25 in 2012; There have also been 6 orders for 3000-8000 TEU medium-sized container ships, compared with 29 last year.

However, the order receiving speed of the liquefied gas carrier market and the marine industry market has slowed down. As of February this year, the order quantity of LNG ships and LPG ships was 7, compared with 36 and 51 last year, respectively. The order quantity of the marine industry field this year was 28, compared with 355 last year.
